Preparation of pigment paste: Disperse 1.83 parts of "Surfynol" TG surfactant in 168 parts of water with stirring. Stir in 33 parts of casein ammoniate solution and with continued stirring, add the pigments including the blue toner. This paste should have a consistency of 70-90 KU.
Transfer to a pebble mill and grind for 14 h. For other grinding equipment, adjust the viscosity as desired by adding either water or casein ammoniate.
Let down: Transfer a weighed amount of the ground paste to a vessel equipped with a stirrer and add with stirring the remaining casein ammoniate, latex, and water. Make certain each ingredient is completely mixed prior to making the next addition. Adjust the pH to 9 with 29% ammonium hydroxide.
In Formula No.2, use "Tamol" 731 instead of casein ammoniate and prepare the paint as shown previously for polyvinyl acetate. |
