"Emulgade" F, "Cetiol" V, the white petrolatum, and the mineral oil are melted in a waterjacketed vessel at 158 to 176F. The water, in which the Preservative has been dissolved, is heated to the same temperature and then stirred into the fatty components. The zinc oxide is mixed with the talc and then blended with the balsam of Peru. This mixture is stirred into the ointment base at about 86F. and then the finished ointment is passed through a roller mill. |
