To manufacture 100-kg batches: Depilatory is prepared in two parts and then mixed together as follows: Part A: Heat 60 kg of distilled water t0 70 C. Add the 6 kg of cetyl alcohol and the 1 kg of "Brij" 35 with constant stirring until completely dissolved. Discontinue stirring and allow to stand and cool to room temperature.
Part B: To 14 l of distilled water add the 5.4 kg of calcium thioglycolate and mix well. While stirring, slowly add the calcium hydroxide. Add the 3.7 kg of strontium hydroxide at this point, only to formula No.3. Add sufficient distilled water so that part B weighs 33 kg.
Combine Part B with Part a and stir well. Add perfume at this point as desired.
The final product should be assayed for thioglycolic acid content, pH, and depilation time. |
