1)To obtain satisfactory dispersion of the ingredients it will be necessary to use an efficient blender, one that provides high internal shear, yet does not cause premature coagulation of the latex.
2) For optimum stabilization of the latex system, the first eight ingredients should be stirred together thoroughly before addition of the ATOMITE. A propeller-blade stirrer or pony mixer is adequate for the job. Once these eight ingredients are smoothly dispersed, the batch is then transferred to the Baker-Perkins; and while the kneading action is proceeding, small increments of ATOMITE are added, allowing each portion to "wet-out" before a succeeding portion is added.
3) the kneading is continued until a smooth, homogeneous, agglomerate-free dispersion is obtained. This may be observed by making periodic sample smears of the cement during the mixing cycle.
