Mix first two ingredients. Add 1,1,1-trichloroethane slowly. Add Elvanol 72-60, 10% solution. Prepare a stock solution of polyvinyl alcohol by slurrying 10 pounds of Elvanol 72-60 in 90 pounds of water at room temperature with good agitation. Heat for 20-25 minutes at 185-190F. Add water for solids and viscosity control. |
