This solution illustrates use of a composition with an alkylating setting solution. This combination of alkylating agent and methylol resin can find utility in nonoxidizing neutralizers for permanent waving.
FORMULA No.4 To Formula 3, add 60 ccs of 6% by weight aqueous solution of hydrogen peroxide. The resulting solution illustrates use of a composition with both an alkylating and oxidizing setting agent. The same results achieved with Example 3 are achievable with this.
A complete hair waving process is set forth below.
1. The hair is blocked off.
2. The hair is wetted with a mercaptan solution containing 6.6% by weight thioglycollic acid having a pH of 9.4.
3. The hair is wound up in curlers.
4. The hair is rewetted with the waving solution.
5. The hair is allowed to process for five to 15 min.
6. The hair is rinsed with lukewarm water.
7. A solution containing a composition in accordance with the second aspect of the present invention is applied to the hair. < |
