Hydrate the VEEGUM D in the available water using maximum available shear. Continue mixing until smooth and uniform. Add B ingredient and mix until uniform. Slurry CMC in glycerin and add to A and B. Mix at least 30 minutes or until all evidence of graininess disappears. Add calcium carbonate very slowly to insure each addition is well dispersed before adding more. Add flavor, saccharin and sodium benzoate and mix until smooth and uniform. Slow mixing speed so it is just sufficient to keep the entire batch in motion. Add sodium lauryl sulfate slowly to avoid foam formation.
CONSISTENCY: Smooth, glossy paste; Brookfield Viscosity at room temperature, measured 30 days after preparation-760,000 cps (Spindle T-E at 2.5 rpm with Helipath stand). |
