When used in the soap tank and the first rinse, sodium "Tetrise" will chelate and hold in solution the soluble iron compounds present in the water, thus preventing the precipitation of iron soap on the goods.
"Tetrine" dissolves iron stains slowly on the alkaline side. Laundry operations are so rapid that the goods are not in contact with the alkaline solution long enough to permit the very small amount of "Tetrine" in the solution to completely solubilize heavy iron stains.
continuous use of "Tetrine" in the soap and first-rinse baths will gradually remove the iron soap deposited on the goods and will gradually brighten the fabric that has been dulled with iron.
When heavy iron stains must be removed, "Tetrine" in an acid medium is used as it works much more rapidly on the acid side as a solubilizing agent for heavy metals. Initially 1 part of sodium "Tetrine" can be used per 10 parts of water and then acidulated with any sour available to a pH of 4.5 to 3.5. this solution will rapidly solubil |
