The starch and water are charged into a three-neck flask and heated
with good agitation to 210F in 30 minutes. The cooking is continued for
an additional 30 minutes. At the end of this time water loss is adjusted
and the preparation cooled. (Salt may be added if desired, without
affecting the properties of the "Arquads".)
