Melt the carnauba wax, "Armac," and "Ethomeen" and bring the temperature to about 95C. Add the boiling water in small increments, thoroughly incorporating each addition with a paddle-type stirrer before making the next water addition. A viscous emulsion may form at first, which will thin out as more water is added. After the emulsion has reached this low-viscosity stage, cooler water may be added to complete the dilution if desired.
The solids concentration of this emulsion may be changed by varying all ingredients proportionately.
The amounts of emulsifiers may be varied within limits and the ratio may also be changed. Increasing the "Armac" too much, however, will result in an undesirable bloom. Increasing the "Ethomeen" too wax film and considerably greater water solubility. Decreasing the "Ethomeen" too far will result in poorer spreading properties and greater difficulty of removal in washing.
