Potassium hydroxide solution of 45% strength/0.46
Weigh the Dresinate and petroleum sulfonate into a weighed beaker of
appropriate size. Add the coupling agent, water, and alkali as
indicated. Swirl the beaker briefly to dilute the alkali, then add the
mineral oil. Stir thoroughly, either with a spatula or with a mechanical
stirrer, using heat (90-110F.) if necessary, it is essential that this
cloudy mixture now be made completely uniform. While stirring is
