Place the dry ingredients of Part A and shortening in mixing bowl and blend by a few turns of the mixer. Add water and mix 6 min in low speed. Stir Part B together. Add in 2 portions to Part A, mixing smooth after each addition. When last liquids have been added, finish by mixing in low speed for 4 min.
Baking Temperature: 365-375 F.
Note: Soda and baking powder are variable depending on the cocoa used.
For a heavy Dutched cocoa, use 1/2 oz soda with 5 oz baking powder.
