Make a uniform dry blend of a and add a to b at room temperature, continually agitating until smooth. Add c and d alternately to a-b. Add e to preceding and finally add f, mixing until smooth.
NOTES: Avoid incorporation of air after addition of wetting agent or vacuum deairing may be necessary for a smooth paste.
this formula should have a thin mixing viscosity but, because of the thixotropic nature of "Veegum," it will set in the tube after agitation has ceased. Another common procedure is to prepare the organic gum mucilage with the available water. The dry "Veegum" is dispersed in this mucilage after which a humectant and abrasives are added. |
