Process as above, except that 24 hour grinding time is advised.
Formula No.2 Black Ink $D" Carbon black/15 Resin (polyamide)/30 Normal propanol/4 Isopropanol/51 The formulation procedure involves refluxing of the resin in solvent and adding this varnish to the pigment. The ink is then mixed by stirring or by grinding in a ball mill. After ball milling, the ink is cut to a No.2 Zahn cup viscosity of 22 sec with the same solvent used in the original varnish. |
