SOLVENTS A series of glycol ethers which has proved eminently suited for use as the coupling solvent in hydraulic-brake fluid formulations is available.
These products have been given the trademark name "Dowanol" and have the following compositions: "Dowanol" 33B. Propylene glycol methyl ether "Dowanol" 50B. Dipropylene glycol methyl ether "Dowanol" 62B. Tripropylene glycol methyl ether "Dowanol" 93B-2. Mixture of the methyl ethers of nono-, di-, and tripropylene glycol (Reflux Boiling Point, 282F. minimum) "Dowanol" 93B-20. Mixture of methyl ethers of mono-, di-, and tripropylene glycol (Reflux Boiling Point, 310F. minimum) The high mutual solvent power of these "Dowanol" products not only assures miscibility of the finished formulation at all operating conditions, but also provides reserve solvent power to provide miscibility with other formulations with which this specific formulation may be mixed.
