In tinning steel, it is often desirable to prevent the tin from
wetting certain parts of the steel. This can be done with a stop-off.
This is a satisfactory stop-off coating for plating chromium and cadmium
and for anodizing. It can be sed in acid baths up to 200F. Its adhesion
to the metal is quite good and it can be stripped readily
