Even after separation of water, sour crude oils present a serious problem in corrosion of pipelines. Laboratory and pilot-run tests indicate that "Arquad S" will effectively inhibit corrosion in this type of service. In tests using "Arquad S" at a rate of 8 lb to 1000 barrels of oil, 95% protection resulted.
"Armac C" was equally promising in this application.
Results of tests, using 8-12 pounds of "Armac C" to 1000 barrels of oil indicated about the same reduction in corrosion as with "Arquad S." |
