Mull the ingredients together carefully. (Make certain the amine is completely dispersed.) The resulting blend can be added to water, isopropanol, methanol or blends of watr, methanol and isopropanol at concentrations up to 50% total solids. The resulting wash has good bonding properties and does not settle. The viscosity of the wash depends on the solvent used but it can be adjusted as desired by altering the amount of "Carbopol" 934 and amine.
The wash can be sprayed, brushed, or dipped as desired. Thicker suspensions give thicker coats. Excellent coatings are obtained on baked cores in this fashion with drying and with alcohol systems when ignited. |
