FORMULA No.1 (5-10 lb. Per 100 gal.) "Nuvis" LB should be added to the paint after grinding in order to obtain best results. This may be done either before or after completion of the thinning operation. Approximately 80 to 90 percent of the viscosity increase should be obtained within 6 to 8 hours after addition. Maximum viscosity increase is obtained in about 24 hours.
"Nuvis" LB shows maximum efficiency where basic pigments such as zinc oxides, or where calcium or zinc soaps are present in the paint. In the absence of such materials, and particularly where "Nuvis" LB is used as a viscosity corrective, the addition of Nuodex Calcium 5% to the extent of 0.2% metal on the vehicle solids, either before or after the addition of the "Nuvis" LB, is recommended.
FORMULA No.2 (3-5 lb. Per 100 gal.) "Nuvis" HS may be used in gloss enamels, semi-gloss enamels and alkyd flat enamels to improve brushing, prevent sagging, retard pigment settling.
