The ingredients may be mixed in the above order with stirring and warmed until a clear solution is obtained. At refluxing temperature, about 5-10 min will be required, with proportionately longer times at lower temperatures. Alternatively, the p-chlorophenol may be dissolved in the isopropanol with warming and this solution mixed with the other ingredients at room temperature. |
