Dissolve "Virchem" 933 in water containing 11.1 lb of sulfuric acid for each 100 lb of V-933 to be dissolved. When preparing a solution containing 0.83 lb of zinc per gallon, use 27 gal of water for each 100 lb of V-933. Maximum concentration at 35F is 33% V-933. Because of the small treatment rates required, metering with pumps is recommended.
Solution concentration, metering pump capacity, and solution tank size should be based on specific operation requirements.
Dosage levels between 0.8 and 3.0 ppm are sufficient to maintain protection after initial passivation.
For best results, piping with heavy accumulations of corrosion products and/or mineral deposits should be cleaned at the start of a treatment program. Corrosion inhibiton benefits can, however, be realized without |
