Mix 1 gal Dow Corning 772 water repellent as received with 11 gal water. Do not use concentrations higher than 3% solids. dilute solutions of the siliconate can be applied by many methods, including dipping, spraying and brushing.
Application Precautions: Under certain conditions a white precipitate of calcium carbonate may be deposited as the water repellent dries. to avoid this, which is especially noticeable on dark surfaces, observe the following precautions: (1) Avoid rundown; avoid overlapping or second coating; (2) Do not allow water repellent to form puddles on flat surfaces; (3) do not allow water repellent to contact glass or aluminum. If contamination occurs, wash thoroughly before water repellent dries to avoid staining or etching.
After application of the silicone solution, the treated surface should be allowed to dry at least 24 hr to develop maximum water repellency.
