In preparing paste wax, using these formulae, it is suggested that the temperature of the wax base is held at approximately 165F. and about one fifth of the naphtha at 135F. is mixed with the wax. The remainder of the naphtha should be at about 90F. The wax-naphtha mixture should be poured into final containers at as low as 110F.
Formula 2 should be poured near 120F. In order to obtain the best results with each formulation, the temperatures of the two portions of naphtha should be adjusted to provide a consistency for immediate pouring which will cause a solid wax film to form on the surface about 6 minutes after the pouring. |
