Dilute the acrylic emulsion to 16% solids content withholding enough water to give an equal part for use with the plasticizers. Adjust the diluted acrylic emulsions with ammonia to pH 8-8.5.
Combine the "KP-140", "Carbitol", and "Triton" N-101 and add an equal part of water. Mix these ingredients to emulsify.
Add the unbleached or bleached solution of "Shanco" 334 Resin to the diluted acrylic emulsion and mix well. Add the emulsion of "Shanco" W-1119 Wax/polyethylene and mix well. Add the solution of emulsified plasticizer slowly while mixing. Agitate for 30 to 40 minutes at a rate that will give good mixing without incorporating air.
An aging period of approximately 24 hours is recommended before evaluating the properties of the film. |
