In both No. 14 and No. 15, the resin is slurried in the water, the ammonia added, and stirring continued until dispersion is complete. The "Zein G210" is slurried separately in the second portion of water containing the glutaraldehyde and plasticizer (urea should be in solution), and when well wetted the ammonia is added. Stirring is continued until the dispersion is complete. The Zein and resin dispersions are then mixed and are ready for blending with the selected wax emulsion. |
