It consists of adding 0.2% Triton X-155 a 90% active alkylaryl alcohol, to the fabric desizing bath. This potent wax and oil emulsifier is a non-pollutant with a low BOD.
When 0.2% Triton X-155 is used in the preparation of cotton/polyester blends, it performs two important functions. It not only emulsifies the polyester lubricants, but also removes the natural waxes from the cotton fibers. For maximum results, 0.1% of Triton X-155 can also be added at the peroxide saturator. |
