Very effective static and soil protection are obtained on wool, nylon, or acrylic carpets by spraying "Q-LOID" A-30, diluted to 5 to 10% solids by weight, at the rate of 1 to 4 ounces per square yard. Best results are obtained using a coarse spray to penetrate the top surface.
Either manual or power spray equipment can be used. Thorough vacuuming after drying is recommended. Treatments with "Q-LOID" A-30 dispersion remain effective throughout an entire winter, when static is normally a problem.
Aerosol formulations can also be used. "Q-LOID" A-30, diluted to 5 to 10% solids by weight, can be prepared as an aerosol package, with 2 to 5% by weight of fluorocarbon propellant Number 12 (dichloro-difluoromethane). If desired, wetting agents and/or perfumes can be added to the formulation. A 24 ounce (net weight) aerosol container of "Q-LOID" A-30 dispersion diluted to 10% solids can treat up to two 9 x 12 carpets for an entire static season. |
